Achkiy Training and Development - The Charity

All profits from the sale of Achkiy goods and any donations received are transferred to Achkiy Training and Development, our charity.

The charity exists to provide training in marketable skills to the marginalised in Peru and, potentially, other parts of South America. We firmly believe that education is the key to development and we consider those proposals that are well researched and destined to make a long-term difference to individuals, families and communities.

Since its formation in 2008, Achkiy Training and Development has sponsored two London-based artists to travel to Peru and teach artistic skills to groups of women from the shanty towns of Lima. We have also sent a drum-carder to a community outside Cuzco in the Peruvian highlands, to enable felt-making workshops to take place. We will be investing further in these workshops as they have the potential to benefit impoverished communities, using locally sourced, renewable materials.
